The Beginning of Seven Stars (SS)
In the early days of K. Kaashidhoo, there was only one NGO/club on the island, known as Kaashidhoo Zuvaanunge Jamiyya. This club primarily focused on playing music and engaging in other social activities, drawing together the island's youth. These were the golden days for the founders of what would later become Seven Stars (SS), as they were also part of this vibrant community.
The passion for music among the youth was immense. They dedicated their lives to it, often going to extraordinary lengths to acquire instruments. To craft their own instruments, they would dive into the sea in search of manta rays and other sea creatures. They also ventured into the island's jungles, cutting down trees to create the tools they needed. Beyond this hands-on effort, they made significant financial investments, spending over 50,000 MVR on musical equipment. They even purchased instruments on an installment basis and diligently paid off the costs over time, all in pursuit of their love for music.
As time passed, circumstances led to a division within Kaashidhoo Zuvaanunge Jamiyya. The club split into two groups, with most of the future Seven Stars founders aligning on one side. Together, they decided to form a music band to continue their passion. However, since island regulations at the time allowed for only one NGO/club, they opted for the structure of a band instead of creating a new club. With a total of seven members, they aptly named their band Seven Stars (SS).
The Seven Stars band quickly became a source of entertainment for the people of K. Kaashidhoo. Over time, they decided to expand their vision, transforming the music band into a fully-fledged club. Thus, Club Seven Stars (SS) was born.
As a club, they began participating in and organizing various events, contributing significantly to the community of K. Kaashidhoo. While music remained a cornerstone of their identity, they broadened their activities to serve the island in many other ways, leaving a lasting legacy.
